Connecting LG phone to Ubuntu 9.10

I've looked around the internet for a few days to try and find a solution but I can't get my LG phone to connect through USB to Ubuntu. I don't know exactly how to mount or how it works.

I tried it with BitPim but my phone is not listed. (I tried other configurations with no success.)

It may help to specify which phone you have. Not much anyone can suggest without that information.

Beyond that, what is your goal here? Are you trying to get data off of the phone? Use it as a 3G modem?

Thank you for responding.

My phone is a LG Rumor2 (LX260). I have a MicroSD installed in it and I would just like to transfer some pictures and/or songs from my computer to the phone.
I have a USB cable connected but can't connect.
