Loaded Ubuntu 7.04. Mobile phone connected with cable via usb. Phone is seen,


Loaded Ubuntu 7.04. Mobile phone connected with cable via usb. Phone is seen,but no modem is registered or connection made. Besides turning the phone off and removing the battery for 20 secs, what else can I do.

I need to access internet to get things working on Ubuntu, but is quite dificult as Im loggingin and out of Windows to test alternatives.and

ok been having a look have you installed the gpilot applet ? is your phone a smart phone ? if so its reconised as a p,d,a to manualy configure a modem for a dial up connection you have to set the ppp if your working off command line you need network admin i am cheating a bit i have the ubuntu bible in front of me we can sort this easily try those 2 areas are you trying to use the mobile as a modem ? or does it have 1 built in ? just need to be clear
