Conflict Mess


I have a newly installed Redhat 9.0 on a Shuttle FN41 Xbox. I have a mess going on. The modem will connect, then go idle within a few minutes. The USB ports don't work at all. At one point they worked intermittently, but now nothing. I have even installed the drivers from Nvidia for this box. Is this a losing battle? Is this box too modern for Linux? Here is the output from lspci:

I assume that you also have a Shuttle motherboard. Shuttle motherboards are the worst quality motherboards that I have ever seen.

My experience with many, many computer builds tells me: yes. My recommendation is that you dump that computer and get a computer built around one of the following motherboards: Intel, Asus, MSI.
