Having trouble installing a piece of hardware? Want to know if that peripheral is compatible with Linux?

Computer hangs

Hello !

I really don't know, what I must do, because every new version of Linux distribution (everyone, Ubuntu 6.10, Suse 10.1, etc.) after short moment from staring, hangs my computer. I don't what is the cause this problem - the older versions of distributions works very well, for example I don't have any problems with Ubuntu 5.10 but with 6.04 and 6.10 I have

Initially I was thinking that the cause of this problem is XGL acceleration, but I have a good graphic card (GF 6600 GT) maybe problem lies in my CPU (Pentium IV 3.0 ghz - this type makes second virtual CPU) but I do not know anything really.

My Hardware: Pentium 4, 3.0GHZ, GF 6600, 1024 mb, Intel(R) 82801FB LPC main plate (? - I don't know or this is goods name)
Acha, I can't add adres to my system logs, from Suse, because you made a block

Please, help me
Salute

You can post the text from the logs by cutting and pasting them here. Use the code block on the advanced edit. Or for links, type hxxp://myaddress.com instead because the system won't treat it as a hyperlink. I think after your 3rd or 5th post, you can post links.

Your hardware seems okay to me for Ubuntu. Can you post the output of lspci?

One other question, do you already have Suse installed? (that's what I am assuming since you mention Suse)

I think also so, particularly that earlier versions act correctly

Yes, from a command prompt prompt type lspci (that lowercase LSPCI).

Sorry, the company firewall blocks your site. I'll have to check it at home tonight...
