Angry Cant start X-windows

I'm new to Red Hat linux 8 and just installed it. It booted fine for a couple of times but I recently changed my display settings (changed video card memory size and resolution) I get an error every time about not being able to start x-server but I am able to login to the command line shell.

How can I fix this problem? can I use my old kernal or something?

Thanks,
