Canon BJC-610 problem with Redhat 9
I'm having trouble getting my Canon BJC-610 printer to work with Redhat 9.
WARNING: This is the first time I've attempted to set up a printer on a linux system, so I'm relatively clueless. I hooked up my old 610 and booted my system. The printer was recognized during the boot process, and I ran "redhad-config-printer". In the "Queue type" tab, it lists "/dev/lp0", so I selected that and tried to use "Autoselect Driver", but I get an error "Can't determine the printer model attached to this device." So I manually selected the Canon BJC-610 driver in the "Printer Driver" tab. I didn't change anything in Queue options or Driver options. I figured that's all it would take, but no such luck. When I try to print a test page I get an error:
There was a problem sending CUPS test page
to 'printer' queue:
lpr: unable to print file: server-error-service-unavailable
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks,
Kris
