Boot to External HD with Grub2

Hi,

My old Dell D800 computer running Ubuntu 9.10 is kaput. However, the hard drive is fine and contains Windows XP and a couple of Ubuntu partitions 9.10 and 9.04.

I have a new computer running Ubuntu 10.04 (only).
I have an external HD Enclosure in which I can install the old hd.

Can anyone explain to me how to prepare Grub2 in the new computer in order to boot the external hd.

Thanks in advance,

RP

Plug it into the new computer and

Code:
sudo update-grub

Smile Solved

Thanks, I thought it wouldn't be hard but after looking at dozens of pages of GRUB2 stuff I didn't know what to do.
