Boot to External HD with Grub2
Hi,
My old Dell D800 computer running Ubuntu 9.10 is kaput. However, the hard drive is fine and contains Windows XP and a couple of Ubuntu partitions 9.10 and 9.04. I have a new computer running Ubuntu 10.04 (only). I have an external HD Enclosure in which I can install the old hd. Can anyone explain to me how to prepare Grub2 in the new computer in order to boot the external hd. Thanks in advance, RP |
Plug it into the new computer and
Code:
sudo update-grub |
Solved
Thanks, I thought it wouldn't be hard but after looking at dozens of pages of GRUB2 stuff I didn't know what to do.
