blueyonder broadband

I am new to linux. I have loaded suse 8.2 but am finding it difficult to connect to internet via the blueyonder broadband. My network card has been dectected because I can see it when I check the network card configuration in yast2.

When I try to get on the web, it comes up with a unknown host.

How do you connect to the internet? Is it through a router or an ADSL modem? If it's the latter then you might have a problem as many USB modems are designed for Windows and I'm not sure how good the drivers for them are at the moment. But if you use a router connected via an ethernet cable to you NIC then you should be fine, I'm not sure why that wouldn't work...so get back to me on what you are using and maybe I can help

In a terminal, run the command
Code:
dhcpcd eth0
You will have to be root. That should solve your problem but I'm no expert
