Bluetooth mouse and keyboard connect, mouse doesn't work

Hey,

I have a bluetooth mouse and keyboard that I just found and haven't used for a while. I put some fresh batteries in, plugged in the bluetooth adapter, connected and the mouse doesn't work.

Everything is connected OK, keyboard works, just not the mouse. All of the lights and everything are on the mouse indicating that it's getting proper power. Any reason why it wouldn't work?

So, I tried using the old dongle I had. I could get keyboard connectivity, but not mouse. After quite a bit of searching, I came across this command:

sudo hciconfig hci0 reset;sleep 10; sudo hidd --search

After you put that in, put both the keyboard and mouse into discovery mode. It connects and everything works just fine. Now, I guess I have to put that into rc.local and figure out how to time it right.

Anyone know when during the boot process that rc.local scripts are run in Ubuntu? Is there a way to get a read out of what's being started up during start up instead of the status bar?

OK!

Putting in the above command (less sudo) into rc.local works. At some point during the boot, you have to put the mouse and keyboard into discovery mode and all works as it should.
