ATI Radeon Xpress 200 S-video output on OpenSuse 12.1
I have a machine with this graphic adapter installed. The S-video output bothers me:
1. on boot I see the BIOS and the linux boot menu on the TV and the VGA screen
2. I also see the boot messages on both devices
3. as soon as the windowmanager starts, the TV screen goes black.
I presume, the driver is working fine in general. What is to be done to keep the s-video output active ?
You can set modes and activate/deactivate the different outputs of the videocard using the xrandr command.
If you run it without parameters it will show you the available outputs and modes.

The physical connection is working because on boot I see the BIOS messages and the GRUB boot selecton menu (with those funny pidgins walking to and fro) on the TV. For a second I also see the SuSe splash picture but afterwards the sceen blanks out.
