ATI fglrx error: 'Flat paneanel plugged in'
A few days ago my wife's X.org session seemed to just -vanish-, leaving very little in /var/logs to indicate what had happened. My X session hasn't had any problems and I've been able to get hers back up and running without any further problems (thus far).
I have noticed, however, that the system as a whole generally isn't as responsive - especially when coming out of an OpenGL screensaver.
Tonight I looked through /var/log again and discovered:
Feb 27 20:25:10 blackflame kernel: [fglrx] Flat panel plugged in
Feb 27 20:25:10 blackflame last message repeated 637 times
Feb 27 20:25:10 blackflame kernel: [fglrx] Fanel plugged in
Feb 27 20:25:10 blackflame kernel: [fglrx] Flat panel plugged in
Feb 27 20:25:10 blackflame last message repeated 122 times
Nothing new has been plugged into the video card physically, and we've been using the two X sessions for several months now without any problems at all.
A few months ago the fan on the video card (Sapphire Radeon 9800 Pro) started sounding a little more 'noticable' than usual, so could it be a potential overheating problem?
Thanks
