ATI borking -- HELP! (Solved)
Ok, Direct Rendering works as does everything else on the card. But here recently I've been getting "splotches" on all my games. Here is a screenie of Quake 3 Arena for example:
It does it on *every* game. Any ideas why? Here is the output of glxinfo:
Code:
bigun@gentoo bigun $ glxinfo
name of display: :0.0
display: :0 screen: 0
direct rendering: Yes

It is doing it in every OpenGL game: Vendetta, Quake 3, Enemy Territory... all of them. It's almost like it's combining pixels or something... it's weird... anyone else having this issue?
Also, I have tested this card in Windows.... it does not do this in that OS. So I believe the card is fine.
that was definitely it, I had even worse problems trying to upgrade the drivers. Always uninstall the previous ati package (with rpm) and init 3 whenever you want to upgrade....
