ASUS USB-BT400 adapter on Centos 7

Running Centos 7

#uname -r

3.10.0-327.22.2.el7.x86_64 (I know this is oldish, Centos drags it's heels intentionally)

After pluging in the USB-BT400 adapter

#lsusb

Bus 002 Device 004: ID 0b05:17cb ASUSTek Computer, Inc. Broadcom BCM20702A0 Bluetooth

#dmesg gives

[43812.023746] usb 2-1.8: new full-speed USB device number 7 using ehci-pci
[43812.112732] usb 2-1.8: New USB device found, idVendor=0b05, idProduct=17cb
[43812.112746] usb 2-1.8: New USB device strings: Mfr=1, Product=2, SerialNumber=3
[43812.112749] usb 2-1.8: Product: BCM20702A0
[43812.112751] usb 2-1.8: Manufacturer: Broadcom Corp
[43812.112753] usb 2-1.8: SerialNumber: 5CF37070B171
[root@localhost ~]#

If I go to Settings/Bluetooth it says 'Devices' with a rotating symbol alongside, obviously waiting for something to connect. Alongside that, is says Visable as "localhost.localdomain"

I read somewhere to enter the following to add the device as this is an older kernel... apparently the correct driver is in kernel-3.11.

#echo "0b05 17cb" >> /sys/bus/usb/drivers/btusb/new_id

then...

#modprobe -v btusb

It's not a big deal, but if there was a simple solution. Any suggestions please ?

beachboy2 - many thanks for having look at this.
I had tried that solution but although the PC sees
the adapter plugged in, it does not connect to it.
I know very little but I'm guessing it's missing the
appropriate driver. It's not a big deal for now.
