Anyone had a problem with sound card not working after sleep or stand-by ?

I have. Whether it's standby, sleep or hibernation, the sound is completely mute (in the generic sense) after waking up. After a restart, it's fine.

Any ideas?

Thanks.

Try this: before going to sleep mode, run 'lsmod | tee modules.txt' to print to text file a list of loaded modules.

After coming out of sleep mode, run 'lsmod | tee modules-2.txt' to print to text file a list of still-loaded modules.

Compare the two lists to see if the sound module(s) is(are) still loaded after sleep.

That might point you in the direction of a repair.
