acer AL17AL17,fedora 12: frequency not supported

My desk-pc has an acer AL17AL17. I've tried to install fedora 12 (windows XP works perfectly) and -just starting- it gave me the message: "frequency not supported". I suppose I have to change it, but I don't know what I should do. The installation began, I selected to do a new installation and then, suddenly, the message.
Should I change it in windows? Which frequency do I have to use?
Please, help me

--> On fedora 12: I'm going to install the "Long Term Supported" 6.0 version, as knudfl told me.
Anyway, now it doesn't give me that error. Please, if someone knows the reason, I would like to know the
answer. Thank you

frequency not supported is a message from your monitor?

If yes, does is shows the correct frequency to use?

Sounds like a refresh rate issue with a greater resolution than what is supported on your monitor.

@ vitorsgoncalves Thanks for answering. No, while I was trying to install fedora 12, I said the partition I wanted to use, and -although everything seemed to be ok- the message: "frequency not supported" appeared, 'dancing' all through the screen.
Today I've tried to install SC6, at first everything seemed ok. But later, the same message.

Anyway, I'll try again later.

Just lower your resolution....
