Question 5 button mouse

Hello everyone,

I have been surfing this forum and the net looking to get my 5 buttons on my mouse working. Ive read on how to get them to been seen by KDE by editing the xf86config file and added the the xmodmap script to my start up and such but I need to get them to have function IE emulate them to go back and forward while browsing a in konq or mozilla. Ive tried imwheel but it doesn't work ... and doesn't seem to be up to date.

Thanks for your help.

I dont have much or any experience messing with mouse buttons so i'm just guessing. the simple way would be to get your buttons to act like key combinations from the keyboard. ie button3 is 'alt <-' and button4 is 'alt ->' then you could go back and forward in mozillia. then you can try to get konq using the same hotkeys (maybe it does already). Let me know what you find out.
by the way what kind of mouse is it? have you confirmed that all the buttons work serperately?
