Mouse setup problems for a 8 button mouse.

Hi, i think its an 8 button, it has the 2 standard buttons left and right the scroll button, the scoll button push down, and 2 more button lower down from the standard left and right buttons.

Anyways its a usb opitical and works ok, but the lower left and right buttons dont click back and forward in browsers like it should

I have used google and couldn find any answers, so i came here to ask to see if anyone could help me?

FWIW, I remember getting the scroll button going with xmodmap (see man xmodmap). Hope that helps.

In Slackware 10.0 it should be here => /usr/X11R6/bin/xmodmap
It's part of the x11 base package, so you should have it if you installed that package.
