2 sound dcards = No Sound

uname -a
Code:
Linux Yoper 2.6.21_yos-47 #1 PREEMPT Fri Jun 1 21:49:54 NZST 2007 i686 athlon i386 GNU/Linux
aplay -l
Code:
card 0: CMI8738MC6 [C-Media PCI CMI8738-MC6], device 0: CMI8738-MC6 [C-Media PCI DAC/ADC]
card 1: V8235 [VIA 8235], device 0: VIA 8235 [VIA 8235]
Speakers are connected to 'card 1'so I get no sound after boot.

alsamixer adjusts sound for 'card 0' but I canNOT change it to 'card 1'

There is NO /etc/rc.local

/etc/modprobe.conf is
Code:
include /etc/modprobe.d
/etc/modprobe.d has blacklist blacklistrpmorig and sound sound is
Code:
sound is alias snd-card-0 snd-via82xx
alias sound-slot-0 snd-via82xx
Here is the listing of /etc/modprobe.d/blacklist#
Code:
Syntax: driver name alone (without any spaces) on a line. Other
# lines are ignored.
#

# watchdog drivers
blacklist i8xx_tco

# framebuffer drivers
blacklist aty128fb
blacklist atyfb
blacklist radeonfb
blacklist i810fb
blacklist cirrusfb
blacklist intelfb
blacklist kyrofb
blacklist i2c-matroxfb
blacklist hgafb
blacklist nvidiafb
blacklist rivafb
blacklist savagefb
blacklist sstfb
blacklist neofb
blacklist tridentfb
blacklist tdfxfb
blacklist virgefb
blacklist vga16fb

# ISDN - see bugs 154799, 159068
blacklist hisax
blacklist hisax_fcpcipnp
blacklist bcm43xx
What do I do so via8235/via82xx is card 0 so I hear sound in the speakers connected to it?

If you've got both onboard sound and a standalone card, that can cause a conflict. If you want to use the standalone card, have you tried to disabling the onboard sound via BIOS? OTOH, if you want to use the onboard sound, you could just remove the standalone card
