Xinetd using 100% cpu

Hi,

my problem is that xinet.d is using nearly all of my cpu cycles.

I'm not terribly experienced using xinet.d so I'm not sure what the problem is.

post your "top" output. See what is using the xinetd service.

This may cause a stir, but kill it!!!
What I mean is kill xinetd and restart it.

If running a "modern" distro do the following:

/etc/rc.d/init.d/xinetd restart

Try stop, start, restart
See if that helps.

Yeah, I tried to kill it many times!

/etc/rc.d/init.d/xinetd restart just restarts it and it immediately goes to 100% cpu usage.

FYI: I'm using Redhat linux 8
