xcompmgr with intel gma 950 graphics card

I followed the instructions here for the real transparent terminals: https://help.ubuntu.com/community/TransparentTerminals

I received no errors but my terminal is still a psuedo-transparent terminal... and when I run the script to check if xcompmgr is running first the terminal doesn't start up, yet xcompmgr is running according to ps.

I'm thinking xcompmgr is just not good with the gma950 but I thought i'd ask...
