Intel GMA 3000 graphics card preoblem in fedora core 6

Hi

I have just installed fedora core 6 on my new PC. Mine is a dual booting system. The other os is windows XP professional.

Here is my PC configuration

Intel core 2 Duo 6300 (1.86 GHz)
Intel 946GZIS mother board
Intel® Graphics Media Accelerator 3000 (Intel® GMA 3000) on board graphics subsystem
1 GB RAM

Monitor:
LG flatron T705SH monitor

The installation was successful. But after I start using it, I can't
change my display settings. Only 2 resolution is shown(800 by 600 and 640 by 480). Seems like its a graphics driver problem and I need to update the driver. I don't think its a monitor issue

How can I do that? I have searched the web for updated driver but can't find a good one.

Can anyone help?

If your solution requires any installation process, please describe it as well. That will be a great help for me.

Under system-config-display (or System -> Administration -> Display in Gnome):
Video card should already be configured under the "Hardware" tab, but see if the Monitor is configured. If it isn't configured than configure it (generic options should work fine) for what you want to achieve in type and resolution.

You can then restart X by logging out or Ctrl+Alt+Backspace. If it still doesn't work, you may need to track down the horizontal sync and vertical refresh rates for you monitor and put them in /etc/X11/xorg.conf "Monitor" section manually.

I had the same problem with an older Intel 815 graphics card, it wasn't a driver problem, it was a monitor problem.
