X remotely

I have a linux box at home with a static IP and can access it from afar via ssh. What do I need to have running on the linux box so that I can run an X application on the linux box, but have the screen up on the remote windows box? (and what would I need on the remote windows box to interpret it?

Thanks!

All you need is x forwarding enabled on ssh. And then an xserver on windows. Either that or you could install something like VNCserver on your linux machine and then you would need a vnc client on the windows box.

Ok, so if I want to use VNC, is it secure over its default port and settings, or does it need to run on top of ssh to be secure?

I have it working on the default port but not over SSH.

Thanks again.
