Yggdrasil - distributed on a ton of 3-1/2" "floppy" disks.
Around 1992, as I recall...
(I think somewhere around here I still have the disks and the tome that was its "User Manual."
I was a very early tinkerer. Red Hat was the first distro I installed, but slackware was right there too. The first distro I really got into was suse though. then debian. Then went full ricer with Gentoo.
First i downloaded and installed Red Hat but had great difficultiess to use it
then tried Mandriva and when its constuctors(?) went into "war" i opted for
PCLinuxOS
now it is a sole os on my laptop Lenovo ideapad 330
