What the hell happened?!?!?!?
Hi guys,
I've had a Red Hat 9 server set up since Tuesday. The server runs fine. It has a 20GB hard drive which contains the Red Hat OS. I also have 2 x 120GB hard drives for storage.
1 of the 120GB drives is a samba share where I am the ONLY one who has write access to the drive. I have set up a group where the users have read, execute access to the files.
This morning this drive had 308 folders. I just logged into it and it has 30. They have pretty much vanished. I noticed the remaining 30 folders modify or create dates were either yesterday, or the day before. It seems everything that was created on the first day the server was up has been removed.
The file system is ext3. Is there anything that would be set to remove the files after a certain age? This is basically a standard Red Hat install.
Thanks to anyone who can shed light on this for me.
Thank you.
Craig
