i dont know if this is a dumb question or not, but does Linus Torvalds use his own 'distro' of linux or does he use one like slackware or something? i'm just curious.

Never really though of that but he probably either made his own distro, used LFS for his own distro, Slackware, or Gentoo.
I don't know... Even though he made Linux in the first place, I doubt he wants to spend time going through a LFS install on every single computer he owns. Gentoo is a possibility, as is basically any other major distro. I'm betting he does have a favorite distro. I also would bet that it would also take a lot of beer/money/pain for him to part with that information, for fairly obvious reasons. I wonder if he still has the computer he coded ur-Linux on. I wonder if it's still running, and how modified the OS has been since then. I really wonder how much it would fetch on Ebay.
Originally posted by darthtux I remember some time back reading one of Linus interviews and he ran Suse. He also said he doesn't prefer one distro over another.
