weird problems when telnet windows

i established telnet connection with a windows 2000 server, but my keyboard seemed to be crippled:

i could not find "Delete" key, and the arrow keys returned "OA", "OD"... which i have no idea what they are.

i'm not sure whether this has to do with the windows machined i'm connected to, or with the keyboard i'm using on my linux box

Check your terminal emulation. That may have something to do with wierd characters. Also make sure that you are using the correct keyboard mapping. It may just be a problem with the WinNT kernel. For some reason, Win 2000 and XP telnet does not work right when connected to a linux session.
