Website File Management

Hi, I'm looking for an ftp file management application; software that keeps track of which files have been changed and knows which files to upload to the website. Years ago I used
FrontPage from MS. My OS now is Debian Linux and I'm using FileZilla to upload to my websites. I wouldn't mind a little help keeping track of things.

Thanks,
Jeff

Hey Jeff,

Could you be more specific as to what you want to do? It almost sounds like rsync would be the tool you want, it can compare an existing directory and a "mirror" and only copy changes in the files (basically have the servers root directory back up to your local machine). If you reverse it, it can be used to reset the server root directory to a local directory.
Take a look at "man rsync" or just google the command.
