Question video file copy (linux unable)

i used several video disks to copy them in linux, but as copy process starts, getting I/O error and process terminates.

#cp /media/cdrom/mpeg/avseq01.dat /root/
I/O error .......................
..
#

i can copy these files in windows xp/2000/2003 using same system.

Note there isn't any error in CD or cdrom , because i used 4 computer and several disks, you should try also if you don't believe before replying
