my ati radeon (agp/64 mb ddr) 7000 works under linux with hardware acceleration, but im not sure if im getting the most out of my card. i looked at some logs and it looks like its running my card like a 1x agp card (it mentions pci too). so i was wondering if anyone could help me get the most out of my card. the fastest framerate i can get in half-life under wine is about 30 fps and i know my card is faster than that, wine or no wine.
I'm running a Radeon 9700PRO under Quake 3 Arena, it brings me more then 340FPs without specific tweak.
There's somewhere a hatch in your config I guess.
that is quite impressive. what are your specs and how much ddr ram is on your card!? holy cow! i heard that the radeon cards can run at the full 4x agp speed on x but the x drivers are still in development so the default is 1.
I use it on a Pentium4 2.0GHz with 512MB DDR.
On the VGA card itself there's 128MB DDR and the driver provided by ATI in their "Powered By ATI" section for this card is like the one they provided for ... their so famous FireGL !!! Should have some influence I guess.
