USB Mouse Problems

when i initially installed RedHat7.3, my usb logitec ifeel mouse, ran perfectly (set as a generic usb mouse). I then recompiled my kernel to work with my athlon system and when i rebooted harddrake came up saying that my mouse has been disconnected/removed. I'm sure i set all usb and mouse options correctly except for bus mouse support, does this mean universal serial bus (usb), or ps2/com port mice? default is no for this option and i left it this way. are there any modifications i have to make to the xfree86 file or any other files for that matter and i have tried using mouseconfig to no avail.

In one of my many kernel update attempts i even tried just changing the pentium III optimization to Athlon, leaving out make mrproper. doing this, to my understanding, will leave all other configurations as is, meaning the configuration for my mouse should have been untouched and left in its original (working) order. Why does this still not work?

ehmm, I just don't use USB because it is only a head egg...but be sure to enable ALL USB support in the kernel you recompile. I don't care if you don't know what it is, just do it all which says USB...and also all the mouse support options. It's ok...it doesn't hurt anything...it just makes your kernel bigger in size...I had to do this for my Cable TV card...cuz it's got some weird radio bus driver...but I just enabled all of them and it worked,
Logitech is the best choice in mouse...however USB anything is the worse,

I have yet again re-compiled my f*@$%in kernel, this time turning on every Fu*@in thing that has to do with a mouse or input device for that matter and still the F@CKIN thing (harddrake) tells me that my USB IFeel mouse has been removed....WTF Batman!

The rage i feel right now is unimaginable!

Is there no Linux meta-guru out there with all the answers, with that special linux touch that can make all the pain go away? ...save me Jebus!

You need FULL HID support for USB in the kernel for the USB mice to work.
Make sure full HID is selected and recompile.
Hope that helps
