Hi,
Can any one tell me how to type Registered Trademark symbol or copyright symbol in Linux?

Thanks!

Most Programs that handle text have a command to enter special characters---what application are you using?

In OpenOffice.org, go to the Insert menu, and click on Special Character...

In vim, make sure you have this in your .vimrc:
set digraph

Then, when writing a document, in command mode enter :digraph to see a table of digraphs which consist of two numbers/letters/symbols seperated by a backspace.

The Registered Trademark symbol is R <backspace> g.

Hi,
I'm using Putty software to connect to my Linux box. From putty, I'm getting the weird character instead of actual symbol.

Hi bigrigdriver,
Will the vim solution which you've given work? I do not have anything such as openoffice, etc....

Thanks!
