Two white lines under the cursor

I seem to get these two small white lines under my cursour. I'm using fluxbox, but that shouldn't matter. Since it happens with gnome and kde.

Any ideas to what this could be?

They are two white lines, a bit smaller than half an inch.

Thanks for any input.

you probably just want to turn on a software cursor in your XF86Config

Excuse my stupidity, but I'm new to X.

What do you mean set a software cursor my XF86Config?

I know pretty much how X works, I'm running redhat 7.3 and fluxbox. I have gnome on there too.

it mean s that the cursor is drawn in software, not hardware, have a search on http://google.com/linux for details. basically tho you just need a line like

option "sw_cursor" "on"

in your XF86Config somewhere.

That's great, but honestly. I have no idea where that would be. I read on the site (xfree86.org) but I have no idea where to do it.
