Hi, everybody.

I ran into USB problem.

My system is Toshiba Satellite (1416-S173) notebook. I have been using Debian (kernel 2.4.20) for a while without USB support (no SCSI either). Now, I want to use USB memory stick, so I rebuild kernel following linux-usb.org and biblio.org (Niko Sauer)
in short, SCSI and USB support are added.
But, unfortunately, USB stick does not work (not recognized at all)

Following I tried.
kernel 2.4.30, and 2.4.20
UHCI, UHCI(alt) OHCI drivers.
dmesg has no message on usb, one line with SCSI "SCSI subsystem driver Revision: 1.00"
/ver/log/messages does not have anything informative.
/proc/scsi/scsi says that nothing is connected.
fdisk -l does not detect anything under SCSI

Memory stick itself works on other linux and Macintosh.
Mouse works when connected to my notebook, without configuring X86Config. (??)

As there is no error message, I have no clue at this moment.

I am replying to myself.

After a little bit of try and errors, I finally figured out. Now it works.

Missing part was "Hot Plug agent", (linux-hotplug-dot-sorceforge-dot-net)

I was very sure hot plug was working, because it worked with PC card slot without that agent. (pcmcia-cs).
