startx not working

hi all,
i guess i have put myself in a big trap unless i get help

i used the command #rm -rf * (in the home directory) wanted to get rid of all the users and some files due to an installation i was doing and start afresh

and being dumb enuf ,i opened a xserver login with the deleted user
and the screen is sitting there ........hanging grey!!!

how can i kill thaty session so that i can do startx again!!

cntrl+alt+backsapce will kill x.

also try alt+f1-4 if the above does not work. that should take you back to cli.
