Startx


well i have configured the video setting
but when i try to execute startx & command it just says that it cant execute .What's wrong

You may not have /usr/X11/bin in your PATH environment variable.
Try /usr/X11/bin/startx &
If that works, edit your ~/.bash_profile to fix your $PATH.

I tried it but nothing happens
When i type startx
the error msg comes "execve failed for /etc/x11/x"
what does it mean and what's wrong .

I found this page. On the page, click on " X won't start ".

It says that /etc/X11/X is a symbolic link to the X server. Run the command
ls -l /etc/X11/X and see where it points.

if that doesn't work do: "locate startx" or "find / -name startx" and prin out the resoult.
