Sound lagging behind video in Google video

Using Slackware 10.1 on laptop I get about a 1 second video lag behind the sound when I try to watch something on video.google.com.

I get the same problem even if I hit pause until the whole file has loaded.

This is using Firefox 1.5.0.1

Anything I can tweak? I do not have this problem watching something on (eg) youtube.com with the xine plugin, only google videos.
