Shutdown warning message?

I'm sure you've all seen the message that most Linux OS's will put out when the shutdown command is invoked.

I'm working on a script which shutdowns machines depending on the servers function in the environment.
I had to cancel one of my test shutdowns by killing the shutdown process (I had time to do this since I was shutting down in 1 minute from when I issued the command).

So now when I log in I get the shutdown message even though I've killed the shutdown process. This message shows up before the motd message but I can't fingure out where it is coming from. I've checked profile and searched /etc to no avail.

Here is the message I'm getting with the MOTD at the end:

Hi Dave!
Where the heck is this message coming from?

I know I can get rid of the message by rebooting but I am not able to reboot at this time. There has to be a way to get rid of this silly message. Help please.

Interesting. Not sure where that message is stored.

You might try running "shutdown -c" which cancels a shutdown. Even though you don't have one running now it may cleanup whatever the previous one set.
