Sakara 3 in 1 micro digital camcorder .jpx, .avx

Okay, so I got this Digital Concepts micro digital camcorder. It's a digital usb contraption. I am able to mount the drive and see that the files are named .avx for video & .jpx for images. I installed the software via wine. I'm not sure at this point whether I have set the right settings for winecfg so that wine can help the software recognize the drive. So, I cannot import through the software. No problem as I stated I can mount the drive & simply copy the files clearing up room for the drive. Or read the pics from the drive. But, the software win (snap 'n share) does not seem to recognize (avx or jpx) files.

So my question is is anyone familiar with .jpx or .avx ? Some kind of compression for avi & jpg is my thinking but no decompression seems to be working. So it could be that the files are encrypted ? Or what ?

Thanks!

Hope I was descriptive enough! I appreciate any help.

While "jpx" seems to be the "official" extension for the JPEG 2000 format "avx" sounds too much like "avi" and "jpx" too much like "jpg" so I doubt it's something other than the vendor playing with extensions. If default media players or viewers can't open them, even after renaming them to "avi" or "jpg", then run "file" or "mediainfo" or equivalent on it to extract usable info to post here.

Crap. That means for now you're forced to work with the software Digital Concepts provided.
