the post in question

http://p1.forumforfree.com/linux-on-...281-s1mp3.html

What we are trying to do is to make a linux distro to fit on an MP3 player

on the main site there is current s1 mp3 firmware you can download to have a look at.

To really get started, we need advice off the rest of the linux community!

Anyone interested can reply here or register to the forum above

Thanks in advance

There are already disto's that will boot off of USB devices, like MP3 players, A lot of distros like SLAX will fit on a Mini-CD and can also be booted fro a USB storage device...

It seems what your attempting is already feasable.

hi kencaz
how are you doing!

Ian_Hawdon is talking about making a firmware for the S1 mp3 player, it not about booting linux off the usb pen drive.

for your information ---> S1 mp3 player consist of a Z80 core, LCD display, some keys, usb pen drive feature, FM radio, voice recording feature and ofcourse the usb interface.

so Ian_Hawdon is talking about porting Linux to that platform not booting the PC over USB.
