Remote X session on MS windows

Can anyone recommend software for running a remote desktop on an MS Windows machine? I'm wondering what X server most people use, or if stuff like VNC is better.

I haven't had to run a X server under Windows since 1996, and I'm really out of touch now.

I would think cygwin with a wm included might be able to run something like that, and it is free.

I know I can run windowmaker on it (and ssh into my box at home too), but not necessarily remotely, but I really think that's just user error, or rather lack of interest/knowledge for something like that.

Cool

Thanks all. In the end I tried cygwin/xfree86 and VNC. I stuck with VNC because the viewer is a small download. Free is good, since I only need it for a week.

VNC is nice, but if you need *actual* X-windows you might want to look into Xwin32.

It's a bit free-er than Exceed - includes a trial license and the ability to run it for, um.. I think 30 minutes at a time on the 'I don't want to pay, and my trial has run out' option.

I use it occasionally and I'm prepared to accept the crippling 'cos I rarely need it for more than 30 minutes at a time

As far as I'm aware, things haven't changed since 1996.
I'm aware of : Reflection X, Exceed and Xwin32.

Slick.
