Red Hat 7.3 RAM Issue

Hi all,

If there's a FAQ or some other available response please redirect me.

I have a server running Red Hat 7.3 (2.4.18-3) and have just upgraded the RAM from 128Mb to 1Gb (2x512), but not all of this seems to be recognised. free -m offers 249 total.

I am aware there are reconfig issues and have tried adding:

append="mem=1024Mb"

to the lilo config file (which in reality is lilo.conf.anaconda. There is no lilo.conf file), but this does not appear to help.

Any assistance would be appreciated.

Thanks!

Are you sure your BIOS recognizes all the memory? Some older mobo's can have problems with that.
