Exclamation Plug n Play

Ive been away from my Linux system from sometime and havent been able to update myself with whats going on in the communuty... as i watch a TV show one of the guyz in it says that linux still lacks "Plug n Play" thing so it just hit me that since that show is a bit old , my info is definately outdated ...
so i wanna ask is that is the PnP thing now available in Linux ? if not then when can we get the same PnP thing just like that of windows ?

PLEASE--lets not be pining for the day when Linux is just like Windows.....

My hunch is that Linux will evolve to be increasingly user-friendly, but might never have PNP to way you think of it. Further, I would never have this as a criteria for choosing Linux over Windows. The "show-stoppers" right now are certain key applications for which the entrenched Windows user has no **easy** migration path.

Winblows rouding everyting with in it.
best way take what you want.(I mean hardware).
Linux you can select what you rouding on.
You can also make "drivers" module and load it and get it off.
And Best of all you can choose what it you self..not by Bill
