Partition disk for Linux Suse 8 on Windows XP

Hi all,
I would like to have tha following:
1. Linux Suse 8 on windows xp.
2. Be abale to see any of the two operating systems while I am working in the other
What is best to do that, .. to let Linux to the partitioning job or to let some other partitioner software to do it (example: magic partioner).
Do you recommend that I have NTFS file system for windows or FAT32?
Please advise regarding the above 2 questions
