parted with LiveCD


Hello ..

i want to create new partition , i am using WinXP and i don't found free partition manager .

i try to use parted with Slax LiveCD , but the problem i don't have (make) command to install it .

From what I can see on Slax website in the features list, parted is already a part of the liveCD and therefore does not need to be installed.

Try bringing up a terminal and type "parted" without the quotes.

You can download a module instead, here is the link for qtparted http://slax.linux-live.org/modules.php

which should work. If not, try to get your hands on UBCD or Knoppix . UBCD however has multiple partition managers as well as tools specific to your hard drives (i.e. maxtor, western digital etc..).
