ntfs not support by my kernel?

I installed 4 os on my satellite laptop, the W98 as a fat32 fs, the W2k and
Xp-pro uses two differents partition (both ntfs) and linux uses ext3.
i am trying to access my NTFS partitions and it does work i can only access
W98 partition.
were is my fstab lines:
/dev/hda5 /mnt/W2K ntfs noauto,user,netmask=222 0 0
/dev/hda6 /mnt/XP ntfs noauto,user,netmask=222 0 0
if i try to mount it with the graphic disk manager, it tell's me that fs
ntfs is not support by the kernel...
What i've done wrong?
thanks for any help.

I might be wrong here since I dont know the mandrakekernel, but it looks like you need to compile the kernel that it supports NTFS.
The support for the different filesystems has to be compiled in the kernel.
Have fun

As root cd /usr/src/linux then do either make xconfig or make menuconfig.
That should bring up a screen to configure the kernel - if it doesnt you dont have kernelsources installed or they are in another directory. You can check there for the ntfs support.
If you never compiled a kernel before you might want to be careful about this.
Looking at the settings doesnt hurt though
