greetings! i was doing some monitoring on my server (checking logs and things like that), and i came across two accounts in my passwd file that were never there before.

heres the section of the passwd file that caught my attention (its formatted differently, because i have a script to make the file a little easier to read)...

Account UID GID Home Shell
operator 11 0 /root
nobody 99 99 /

the fact that their home directories are /root and / make me a little nervous. i'm also concerned because they don't have a shell. does that mean they are a service of some sort. could a program i've intstalled create these accounts?

pardon my ignorance, and thanks in advance for any help you may be able to provide!
