When booting a new compiled kernel the boot stalls at the following message:
'Warning: unable to open an initial console'
why is this happening.
also, what files should be in the /boot directory apart from the bzImage -> compressed kernel.
does the System.map need to amtch the kernel or is it always the same and where should it be.
any other files needed i the /boot directory
I am not really sure about this. But I remember I had such problems while trying to add support for devfs. I think there are some boot time options or something. See if you are using this and if yes make sure it is well configured.
