Exclamation Need recommendation for sound card

Hi,

I need some sound in Linux - it's too damn quiet! What soundcard would you recommend that has lots of support and will install easily?

Using Mandrake 8.1.

Thanks,
Keymoo

Is it just a case of bunging it in and then booting the system and it will auto-detect it? Or do I need to do a shed load of commandline jiggery pokery?

Yes any SB live will work. My friends x-gamer worked without him even doing anything.

Make sure to not get an Audigy though. I bought one and it turns out it doesnt work on linux yet.

Wink Audigy Driver

I found an Audigy driver at:
http://sourceforge.net/docman/displ...&group_id=44773

It works like a charm and was very easy to install. Follow the directions and you should have no problem
