Need advice on creating an alias

Hi,

I would like to know if I can create an alias that would scp a file to a machine without the requirement of typing in a password and then running that file through a program on the same remote machine. Is this even possible?

That's a task for a script, and yes, it can be done using ssh-agent
and authentication (or even without the agent if you're a 100%
certain that no one will ever get their paws on your machine).

search our site for ssh password-less ... one of our mods has
made a great (short) tutorial on this.
